The purpose of this essay is to analyze how the concepts of Social Participation and Human Activity, widely discussed in the field of Occupational Therapy and Mental Health, unfold in the scenes of a national film based in real events. The analysis of the film represents the use of an artistic resource, in this case cinematography, as a window to a given reality, offering us the opportunity to glimpse the delicacies and layers of everyday life. Pacarrete (2020) is a film produced in Ceará and directed by Allan Deberton, whose plot revolves around the artist Maria Araújo Lima, better known as Pacarrete.
