This article points out elements of film staging that can enhance cinematic aesthetics, using the film Bardo, False Chronicle of Some Truths (2022), by Alejandro González Iñárritu, as its corpus. The guiding instrument of this analysis is mise-en-scène. The hypothesis is that this film is constituid by a layered staging conceived through an expansion of the visual composition, realized through different means, including simulacrum, resulting in differentiated aesthetics. Regarding the theoretical foundation of mise-en-scène in cinema, the text relies on the concepts of David Bordwell (2008).
