Abstract

This article uses Content Analysis to investigate the representations of androcentrism and female resistance in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, from a gender perspective. The main objective was to analyze how these phenomena are portrayed, focusing on the interactions between male and female characters. The results indicated that the female characters challenge traditional gender conventions, highlighting feminist advancements. The analysis also revealed the maintenance of androcentric elements. It is concluded that the film, while contributing to gender representation, reproduces the contradictions inherent in feminist struggles, potentially serving to maintain patriarchal ideologies.
