TV broadcasters around the world have pointed out three alternatives for exercising a relative control of audience’s actions during their multiple screen experience (aiming to minimize the risk of advertisers’ revenue reduction due to the reconfigured way of watching TV). One of those alternatives is providing companion apps to audience’s materialization of the experience – when apps’ usage makes sense for a TV show. The article indicates some adaptations in televisual process after the supply of apps, also addressing how companion apps can help enlarging the duration of TV shows (contributing to reduce the mentioned risk).
