Abstract

The first issue of the journal GEMInIS, a publication of the Group of Studies on Interactive Media in Image and Sound - PPGIS / UFSCar, is on the air. This first issue is dedicated to exploring an extremely current and central theme for studies on interactive media, located in the related fields of the Group's work lines: 'Serial Audiovisual Fiction'. In this way, we seek to enter into the 'rabbit's lair' of contemporary serialized forms from the long-term narratives characterized by their multiple extensions, trying to understand how the processes of media and cultural convergence produce the widening of the boundaries of the universe of Narratives.

João Massarolo, UFSCar

Cineasta, professor universitário, Doutor em Cinema e Audiovisual pela USP. É professor associado do Departamento de Artes e Comunicação da Universidade Federal de São Carlos – UFSCar, desde 1992 e, atualmente, coordena o Grupo de Estudos em Mídias Interativas em Imagem e Som.
