NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS: Uma cartografia dos sistemas de distribuição de séries televisivas nos Estados Unidos

Este trabalho busca esboçar as características dos mais importantes modelos de distribuição comercial de séries televisivas originais nos Estados Unidos, nomeadamente: redes abertas, canais básicos de cabo, canais premium e o emergente sistema de produção de conteúdo televisivo para distribuição exclusiva online. O objetivo é apresentar os constrangimentos institucionais e desafios que cada um desses sistemas enfrenta e o impacto destes distintos modelos de negócios sobre os produtos, num enquadramento guiado pelos recentes estudos sobre indústrias criativas. Longe de escrutinar em detalhe o mosaico que constitui a paisagem televisiva estadunidense, este estudo tem um caráter cartográfico, centrando sua argumentação em apenas uma empresa ligada a cada um desses sistemas.Downloads
